I think most of you know Tom Swank - Prayer Director for the MC. Our other special guest will be the speaker at the Prayer Fall Retreat sponsored by the MC and led by Tom Swank. Pastor Elliff began the Summit Church in 1998 when a faith-filled group of people stepped out to plant a new church in Central Arkansas. This church would be a place where prayer was the foundation and the presence of God was welcomed and experienced. This church would be about reaching the next generation and helping hurting people. This church would teach God's Word boldly and unapologetically and would have a heart to send people to the nations. Our desire has always been to help as many people as we can become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Pastor Elliff is a frequent conference speaker, writer, and consultant to churches drawing from his years of pastoring and revival ministry.

In our class on Jan 30 we discussed what delegation is; why delegation is so important; Why don’t we do a better job at delegation? What things can’t we delegate and what things can we? “If the pastor would only tell us what he wants done, we would gladly do it” was a comment my dad made to me once when we were talking about church work. His comments were not trying to advise me, but rather were an expression of his current frustration. The Bible devotes an entire Bible chapter to the subject of delegation or “Jethro-gation.”? This was the one skill that probably saved Moses and the people of Israel from early extinction. If Moses had not conquered this skill he probably would have quit his job because of burnout. I believe this is one of the most neglected skills by pastors, but one of the most important. If pastors can learn this skill I believe it will increase their effectiveness many times over. Psa 78:22 - “with skillful hands he led them.”
